Knee Replacement Six Years Later

It's has been years since I last posted on this site and I thought it was maybe time for an update.

My knee is operating just fine thank you. The only thing that gives me any grief is if I try to kneel down on it. I can actually do that, if somewhat tentatively but not like before. It makes working close to the floor a real chore (well, that and being near sighted...aging, oh my). But I am continuing to play basketball and workout. Walking doesn't seem to create any great problems for me. In fact, almost no physical activity. Just the kneeling down.

One other thing that I have some trouble with is keeping my knee in the same flexed position for an extended period or time. I am talking about long car rides or attending a concert. I need to have enough legroom to straighten my knee out periodically.

We had to get rid of the little 2011 Corolla we had. I'm 6' 4" and there just wasn't enough flex room for more than a one or one and a half hour ride in the car. Since it's five hours to my Dad's, and I like to drive up to see him, visit for a couple of hours and then get home the same day, the Corolla wasn't working. We have a Ford Escape now, and there is no problem driving it. I used to do the trip in my 2004 CRV without much trouble, but the Escape is even better.

It looks like there are new therapies coming along that could minimize the need for a knee replacement in the future. Bring them on I say. If I can avoid getting one on my right knee I will be pleased. All those years of favouring my left has probably put a higher than normal burden on my right, so it could be a ticking time bomb. We'll see.

I'm going to try and get back here more frequently, and answer any questions that come along. The truth is I forgot which email account I used to start this blog, so couldn't access it for quite some time. Everything is sorted out now.

My online small business marketing consulting now. Retired from corporate life a few years back and stated Bootstrap Local Marketing and am working at a different pace. But the knee replacement made it possible for me to do more work around the house, and get busy with other activities. I bless the day I got it done. thanks for reading and I hope you find some value in this blog.
