Weight Lifting Post Knee Replacement

Been a while since I so I thought I would check back in.

As of today, November 20th, 2013, my knee is still great. No pain, great function, still a little sensitive when I try and kneel down on both knees, so I tend to go down on my right knee and keep my left foot on the floor.

I wanted to mention my exercise. I sort of fell out of weightlifting after my recovery. The nearest gym was a 35 minute drive away, and membership was close to $600.00 a year. since I have a pick-up truck to drive during the day, it became an expensive proposition.

Well, I started going to a local networking group, to help make connections to further my online marketing business, and managed to arrange a deal with a gym in Cobourg. I started out gradually, to get back into the swing of things and I am happy to say that after about 5 months of work, I am squatting  my own body weight, of 209 pounds. My actual squats are 210. No problem with the knee.

I don't spend a lot of time in the gym. I am sticking with the major exercises like squats, dead lifts, bicep curls and reverse curls for triceps, chest presses, hamstring curls, and some work on the cable machine, curls, tricep pull downs and lat pulldowns. I am playing basketball twice a week, in friendly games, so it's competitive, but not intense.

I credit exercise with making this whole process far more successful then it could have been and the weightlifting has been a big part of it. I really feel like I have been able to get out of it what I put in.
